So turns out Quetzaltrekkers is pretty amazing! With 4.9 stars on Google Reviews, we’re one of the best destinations for travelers in the world. Here’s a list of 10 places (maybe you’ve heard of some), that are definitely worth removing from your bucket list, and replacing with coming to Guatemala to do a hike with us!

- Eiffel Tower 4.7 Stars
Gustave Eiffel may have designed a funny looking metal tower, but Guadalupe Pos, one of the founders of QT, has helped create a school for almost 200 kids! Plus, from the summit of Tajumulco you can see the entire volcanic range of Guatemala. How many volcanos can you see from the Eiffel Tower? Zero? Yeah, zero, right?

2. Torres del Paine 4.7 Stars
Maybe next time you’re drooling over photos of Patagonia, you instead look into the Cuchumatanes! This mountain range has it’s own respectable 4.8 stars, and the QT experience absolutely bumps it up a notch! Get ready for the highest non-volcanic peak in the country and some of the most protected forest in the region.

3. Colosseum 4.8 Stars
The colosseum is nearly 2,000 years old, yet has only managed to scrounge up 4.8 stars? We’ve done better than that in just 30 years! On all of our hikes you can learn about the intense history of the Guatemalan armed conflict, but do it in beautiful nature rather than in the loud streets of Rome.

4. Great Wall of China 4.4 Stars
Honestly, this one is just disappointing. Why even get a guide to explore the Great Wall? You just follow the wall, right? We guide groups through dense cloud forests on narrow footpaths connecting small rural villages. And while we don’t have Chinese Food, we do make Ramen on our volcano hikes! Yum!

5. Niagara Falls 4.8 Stars
While Niagara has a maximum height of 57 meters, our hike to the Lago Atitlán crosses one river 7 times! Talk about an immersive experience! No need to hire a boat to experience our amazing moving water.

6. Disneyland 4.6 Stars
Grown adults wearing creepy cartoon costumes jumping around trying to make kids laugh? Sounds like a bit too much to me, and clearly the reviewers agree. We build real connections at QT. Whether it’s a 2 day trip up a volcano, or 5 days wandering the highlands, people leave here with new friends, not just a pair of plastic mouse ears.

7. The Grand Canyon 4.8 Stars
Well, Google says it themselves right under the stars. Ravine. It’s just a massive ditch! Not sure what could possibly be great about that. And while we go through so many amazing environments, we would never dream of taking you through some ugly barren desert.

8. Taj Mahal 4.6 Stars
Some people say symmetry is beautiful, but at least when it comes to architecture, they’re wrong. What’s beautiful is the half constructed, exposed rebar houses being built with remittance money we get to see on most of our treks.

9. Buckingham Palace 4.5 Stars
While it must be fun to see the ridiculous clothes the guards wear, why not see some truly beautiful clothing instead? Guatemala is home to some of the best weavers in the world, with traditional clothing being worn in most of the villages we hike through.

10. Acatenango 4.7 Stars and Fuego 4.4 Stars
Okay, this one hurts to say. I don’t mean to attack our own backyard, but let’s face it. Acatanengo and Fuego have become overcrowded, overdeveloped, and full of trash. Volcan Zunil on the other hand, remains undeveloped and nearly untouched! Right outside of Xela it offers some of the best volcano views in the country!
